Angel nest, sleeping bag, baby sleeping bag, our guide to distinguishing them
Angel's nest, sleeping bag, turbulette... Many terms are used to talk about baby's sleep equipment, but do you know what they're used for?
In a few words :
- The sleeping bag and turbulette are synonymous. They are essential accessories for your baby's sleep. Be sure to check its composition and the materials used to ensure that they are free from harmful substances.
- The angel's nest is used as soon as baby leaves the maternity ward to keep him warm. It's a small, strapless sleeping bag with a hood, ideal for outdoor outings.
What's the difference between a sleeping bag and a turbulette?
None at all! These two terms mean the same thing. The gigoteuse, or turbulette, wraps baby securely at night.
This accessory looks like a sleeping bag with straps. It keeps baby warm and prevents him from uncovering. Unlike a baby comforterwhich is not recommended before the age of 2, it leaves baby's face unobstructed to avoid any risk of suffocation.

To help you choose the right sleeping bag, we've classified them according to a heat index called "TOG".
The TOG must be adapted to the temperature of the baby's room.
Above 22°C, it's best to opt for a TOG 1 sleeping bag without wadding. Cocoeko TOG 1 sleeping bags are made from soft, breathable cotton gauze.
The different TOGs :
- TOG 1 or " summer sleeping bag ": Unpadded, lined with poplin or double cotton gauze.
- TOG 2 or " all-season sleeping bag ": Filled with soft, lightweight hypoallergenic wadding, suitable for use all year round.
- TOG 3 or "fleece sleeping bag": Thicker, ideal for very cold weather, to be used with care to avoid overheating.

Sleeping bags come in a range of sizes, from 0 to 36 months. At birth, we recommend a 0-3 months sleeping bag. Choose Oeko-Tex-certified materials to guarantee the absence of harmful substances.
What about the angel's nest?
The angel's nest is different from the sleeping bag. It resembles a small sleeping bag with a hood, ideal for protecting baby from the cold when out and about.
Why choose an angel's nest?
The angel's nest is often chosen for the birth, as soon as the baby leaves the maternity ward. It envelops baby in a warm, comforting feeling, reminiscent of the womb.
Unlike a sleeping bag, an angel's nest is not suitable for night-time use. It is recommended for travel (stroller, baby carriage, carrycot).

And when baby grows up...
Indispensable in winter, the footmuff is ideal for protecting baby from the cold during stroller rides.
Thicker than the Angel's Nest, it's designed for outdoor use and adapts to stroller attachments. Caution: do not use indoors to avoid overheating.
