As a young parent, it's sometimes difficult to manage your time and take time for yourself. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you better organize your day-to-day life.
Medical appointments
Your baby has many medical appointments, and it's easy to get lost... Don't panic, we've got it all down for you! To be properly organized, you need to know which appointments are important and keep a schedule to make sure you don't miss any. To help you do this, you can use an app like Google Calendar, reminders on your phone, a paper diary or even the good old-fashioned method of hanging a calendar on the fridge! Note that from birth to age 6, your child has 20 compulsory medical appointments.
Planning from birth to the 12th month
Your baby's first check-up takes place within 8 days of birth. A health certificate is issued, giving details of the pregnancy, birth and baby's state of health. A second check-up is recommended between days 8 and 12 to ensure that everything is going well.
Thereafter, a monthly check-up is scheduled until the baby is 6 months old. At 9 months, an important consultation is held to issue the 2nd health certificate. Baby is then seen again at 12 months, then 13 months, and another appointment is scheduled between 16 and 18 months. Finally, an examination at 24 months concludes this period with the 3rd health certificate.
During these consultations, your child receives the compulsory vaccinations and their reminders, recorded in his or her health record. Discover our health booklet protectors to keep them well protected.
Planning between 1 and 6 years
After the age of 2, your child will continue to be monitored regularly by a health professional. Examinations are scheduled:
- At age 3
- At age 4
- At age 5
- At age 6
These appointments allow us to monitor growth and psychomotor development, check vaccinations and discuss everyday concerns such as sleep, emotions and allergies.
Taking time with your child
As a parent, it's very important for you and your child to share time together. Sometimes, with our heads in the sand, we miss out on simple moments! Spend some time with your child to bond: sing lullabies, cuddle, tell stories or even give him a bedtime massage... There are lots of possibilities. If he's a little older, you can share activities together. Introduce him to new things! Take a walk in the woods, practice sports or yoga, and bake good cakes. Create little rituals with your child that will become moments of pleasure you look forward to.
Taking time for yourself
Dear young parents, take some time for yourself! Set aside time in your schedule for: a walk, a moment with friends, a wellness break... In short, whatever you like! Ask for help! Your full-time job as a young parent takes up a lot of your energy, and sometimes you need to delegate to decompress. The golden rule is not to feel guilty. You have the right to take time for yourself. It's important to know how to let go to recharge your batteries.
