As temperatures rise, it's time to think about adapting your baby's sleeping bag for his or her comfort. From 22°C upwards, you can opt for a TOG 1 sleeping bag, i.e. lightweight, without wadding.

Should I use a sleeping bag in summer?
Yes, pediatricians recommend it, as it reassures baby by recreating a sensation close to the maternal womb, reduces the Moro reflex (startle reflex) and maintains an ideal temperature for sleep. However, if the temperature exceeds 25°C, light pyjamas may suffice.
Which sleeping bag for summer?
Choose a lightweight sleeping bag with a TOG 1 rating, suitable for temperatures between 22 and 25°C, as baby is not yet able to regulate his body temperature. Choose natural materials such as cotton gauze, renowned for its breathability and absorbent properties, ideal for preventing excessive perspiration and maintaining optimal comfort.
How to choose the size of a sleeping bag?
To guarantee baby's comfort and safety, choose the right sleeping bag. Size 0-3 months (55 cm) is suitable for newborns up to 60 cm. The 0-6 months (70 cm) size is perfect for babies from 60 to 67 cm. The 6-24 months (90 cm) fits babies from 68 to 95 cm, and the 24-36 months (110 cm) is ideal for babies from 95 to 105 cm.
How to make sure a sleeping bag is the right size?
To ensure that the sleeping bag is the right size, the neckline must be snug: neither too wide to prevent baby from slipping inside, nor too tight for comfort. Armholes should allow freedom of movement while blocking draughts. A margin of around 10 cm between baby's feet and the bottom of the sleeping bag is ideal for free movement without the risk of rolling up. Finally, for the chest space, make sure it's snug but not tight: you should be able to slip two fingers between baby's chest and the sleeping bag.
